Mercedes Homes Visits the Space Coast Early Intervention Center

MELBOURNE, FLA. (March 28, 2005) – Scott Buescher, president of operations for Mercedes Homes, and the Mercedes Homes’ Contributions Committee visited the Space Coast Early Intervention Center (SCEIC) in March to witness first-hand the innovative teaching techniques at this nationally-recognized therapeutic preschool.

SCEIC offers children with and without developmental delays the opportunity to play and learn together—with amazing results.  In fact, SCEIC has mainstreamed 95 percent of its special graduates into public and private schools over the past 15 years.

Melbourne-based Mercedes Homes has been contributing to SCEIC, as well as many other local charities, for decades.

“At Mercedes Homes, we recognize our responsibilities as leaders in the housing industry, and we are committed to creating positive impacts on the quality of life in our community and society, ” said Buescher.

Dr. Sally Shinn, executive director of SCEIC, had nothing but great things to say about Mercedes Homes’ commitment to the community.

“Mercedes Homes has been an inspiration to Space Coast Early Intervention Center for the last 17 years.  For this generous group of dedicated people, no task or request has been too great or small in order to make a better life for kids with disabilities.  We value and cherish their support, ” commented Shinn.
